Year 5 Home Learning Work for Wednesday 20th May
MATHS
Spend 15 minutes practising your rounding skills with the Topmarks game below. There is a number line to help if needed or you could challenge yourself to round without the number line.
Complete as much of today's worksheet (below) as you can.
(Answers are at the bottom of this page.)
ENGLISH
Practise this week's spellings.
It is now a long time since any live sport has been available to watch.
Some sporting bodies (eg. the Premier League) are talking about re-starting competitive sport, but with no crowds watching - they call it 'behind closed doors'.
Some argue that this is better than nothing, so it should go ahead as soon as possible, but others think that without a live audience, it would not be the same so we should wait.
What do you think?
Write a persuasive text, detailing your point of view. Include all the arguments you can think of either in favour or against sport behind closed doors.
OTHER
Today's third task is another practical one.
I would like you to be creative and come up with a new 'lockdown sporting craze'. It must be something you can easily do in lockdown and it must present at least some degree of challenge (in other words, not be too easy to achieve). It could be outside or inside (be careful inside!) and must include some element of sport - e.g. throwing or jumping or balance or co-ordination etc.
Take a look at my video below and have a go yourself!
