Here's to a brilliant term ahead!

15/12/22 - Year 6 enjoyed making their Christmas Gonks this week in DT 🧶🎄

02/12/22 - Christmas has arrived in our classroom 🎄

28/11/22 - Y6 really enjoyed their trip to the cinema last week to see 'Asteroid Hunters' 📽️

18/11/22 - Y6 have learnt lots as part of anti-bullying week. They have also created their own British Values canvas based on ‘The Rule of Law’. It looks wonderful 🇬🇧

17/11/22 - Learning French is fun 🇫🇷

09/11/22 - Y6 are thoroughly enjoying their cricket sessions each Wednesday. They have perfected an over arm throw, developed team skills and practised catching a ball so far 🏏

04/11/22 - Y6 enjoyed sampling Indian food, learning about Hindu traditions and customs, designing jewellery and having a go at Rangoli pattern creation 🤩

02/11/22 - Y6 thoroughly enjoyed their KAPLA STEM workshop. They had to demonstrate independence, fine motor skills and problem solving. The bridge looked amazing! 🌉

21/10/22 - Year 6 really enjoyed their Writing Cafe last term! ✍️ 📒

18/10/22 - Year 6 learnt about Harriet Tubman as part of Black History Month. Harriet Tubman was an escaped enslaved woman who became a “conductor” on the Underground Railroad, leading enslaved people to freedom before the Civil War, all while carrying a bounty on her head. But she was also a nurse, a Union spy and a women's suffrage supporter.

13/10/22 - Year 6 were visited by two PCSOs from the local community last week. They came in to educate the children on road safety, in the context of the local area, from the perspective of a driver and a pedestrian. The children are now clear about their responsibilities as pedestrians and how to be aware when walking on pavements – the session was particularly important ahead of the Bikeability workshop in November.

10/10/22 - Y6 had a wonderful time at the Cheltenham Literature Festival. They enjoyed a storytelling workshop, followed by meeting the author David Solomons. David engaged the children by sharing extracts of his books, hosting a quiz and answering questions about what it is like to be an author 📚

07/10/22 - Our new ‘Reading for Pleasure’ display is up in the hallway with lots of books to choose from 📚

06/10/22 - Year 6 are very much enjoying their IPad music sessions each Wednesday afternoon. These sessions are led by ‘The Music Works’, with new skills being built upon to enable to children to develop musical proficiency using new software, technology and instruments. The children are so enthusiastic about the sessions and are always eager to share their wonderful compositions. Lots of teamwork also takes place. What fun!

22/09/22 - An amazing freestyle football session was enjoyed by all ⚽️

21/09/22 - Y6 are thoroughly enjoying their IPad music sessions and are composing pieces to be really proud of 🎵 🎧

19/09/22 - Y6 enjoyed creating their own rainforest animals using some recycled resources. Every member of the class also discussed and wrote down questions they would like to find out about the Amazon rainforest during the course of this topic 🌳 These questions will tie in with the children’s enquiries and enrich their Geographical knowledge even further!

The Y6 classroom is ready, the reading corner is prepped and now it’s time to start showcasing the children’s amazing work on the walls! ⭐️
