17/07/23 - Year 6 were very privileged to work with volunteers from Christ Church this morning for a transition workshop to help prepare them even further for going to secondary school. As part of this, they learnt the steps for how to tie a tie ๐

11/07/23 - Day 2 of residential has been a roaring success. The children have taken part in crate stacking, biking, navigation, low ropes, tunnelling and team building. They are looking forward to a camp fire this evening and the sun has made a guest appearance ๐

23/06/23 - In art, we have been learning about one point perspectives. This is a method they shows how things get smaller as they get further away, converging towards a single vanishing point on the horizon line. It is a way of drawing objects upon a flat piece of paper so they look three-dimensional and realistic ๐ผ
23/06/23 - Work is well underway on the props for the performance. Y6 also produced some brilliant pastel artwork and a group from our class enjoyed a trip to SPIRAX to engage in some STEM activities!
16/06/23 - Year 6 had a wonderful time at the DGAT Leavers' Service at Gloucester Cathedral on Wednesday. As part of the service, they had the opportunity to reflect on their time at primary school in the context of the Christian faith. Everyone received a special holding cross the mark the occasion.
12/06/23 - Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their STEM workshop and learnt lots about construction and engineering. They were able to apply their Maths and Science knowledge and apply it to a real-life scenario of building a strong bridge. Excellent teamwork and sharing of ideas took place ๐
09/06/23 - Year 6 enjoyed their trip to the Science Festival yesterday to see veterinarian and author Jess French!
01/06/23 - Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to CLC to learn about the workings of the pipe organ. They all had the opportunity to play the organ, linking their experience with their knowledge of composition and musical notation ๐ต What an amazing experience! ๐

Year 6 voted for their new class book which will be read aloud during the term by Miss Greenwood. Each child used their talk token to vote, verbally justifying their choice, linking to Oracy objectives ๐
