Our school performance ‘Matilda’ 2025

Y6, Class of 2025

27/06/25 - Maths investigations are so much fun! 🧮

26/06/25 - A wonderful time at Cattle Country for our whole school trip 🐄 🤩

24/06/25 - Fan boats STEM day . We designed, built and tested model boats powered by small electric fans ⚡️ 🚤

20/06/25 - A fantastic transition to secondary school workshop with Matt from Youth4Christ today 🤩

19/06/25 - Acting out the story of The Trojan Horse in History. The Trojan Horse story is a famous legend from the Trojan War, where the Greeks, after a decade-long siege of Troy, used a large wooden horse to infiltrate the city. The Greeks left the horse as a supposed offering to the gods while pretending to sail away. The Trojans, believing they had won, brought the horse inside their walls. That night, Greek soldiers hidden inside the horse emerged, opened the city gates, and allowed the rest of the Greek army to enter and conquer Troy 🐴 🗡️

17/06/25 - Y6 were very fortunate to receive a transition booklet from Christ Church. Maureen from the church came in to deliver these and to give the children some top tips for their upcoming move to secondary school. The children also learnt how to do up a tie 👔

16/06/25 - KS2 enjoyed a wonderful tour of Gloucester Rugby Stadium on Monday where they learnt lots about the site, the history of the sport and about the training of the players . They even got to meet one of the players who was enjoying a training session 🏉

Sports Day 2025 🏃‍♀️ 🥎

Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic leavers’ service at Gloucester Cathedral on Wednesday. The service celebrated the wonderful opportunities and experiences that the children have had at primary school – this took place alongside lots of other DGAT schools in our trust. The children sang beautifully and showed so much respect in the service. They then enjoyed a picnic lunch outside the Cathedral before heading back to school. A big well done to our banner carriers, candle bearer and reader. What special memories! ✨

Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to the Science Festival to see Stefan Gates on Thursday. It was "spectacular, hilarious and packed with fascinating science."

Our sponsored walk to raise awareness and money for 'Empathy Action' 🫶

22/05/25 - We learnt about Mount Everest in Geography with student teachers from The University of Gloucestershire 🏔️

22/05/25 - Codebreakers at work. Y6 have been using “trial and error" - a problem-solving strategy where you make educated guesses (trials) and test them against the problem to see if they work (or if there's an error). If a guess is incorrect, you use the information gained to try again, refining your guesses until you find the correct solution. This has supported our ongoing critical thinking, reasoning and making connections between mathematical ideas 🕵️

21/05/25 - A huge well done to the Christ Church swimming team for taking part in the Primary Schools Swimming Gala on Tuesday. They made us very proud 🏊

16/05/25 - Y6 enjoyed a cream tea and active games on the field last week to celebrate the end of SATs 🌞

15/05/25 - Well done, Y6. SATs completed! We are very proud of you all 😊

14/05/25 - Many of our Y6 children enjoyed two sunrise morning yoga sessions with Coach Steve this week before their SATs tests - what a relaxing and mindful way to start the day!

07/05/25 - Y6 enjoyed a grammar, punctuation and spelling scavenger hunt in the sunshine! 🌞
