Here are some activities that you might like to do in the afternoons. You can choose which ones you would like to do and don't forget to look at the transition activities too!
Reading Comprehension
It would be great if you could complete one of these reading comprehension activities each day. You will need to read the information and then discuss the questions with an adult. Maybe you could practise writing the answers to the questions - remember to write in full sentences!
Write a letter
You might like to write a letter or a postcard to a family member or friend that you haven't seen for a while. You could tell them about what you have been doing at home and maybe include some pictures!
Summer Holiday Bucket List
A bucket list is a list of things that you would like to complete. You might like to think about things you would like to do over the summer holiday. For example, you might want to read certain books, learn a new skill or bake a cake!
PSHE
Try the activities on this Facts4Life sheet. Make sure you discuss the feeling of anxiety with an adult and talk about the questions in the "Brilliant Bodies" section.
Science
Remember that the Cheltenham Science Group have some science activities for you to try at home.
What a load of rubbish!
With your family, look at the rubbish you throw out. Do you help to recycle? How do you sort these into junk and into recycling? Look at the range of items and group them into different material groups. Talk to a family member about how certain groups are plastics and can also look and feel different to each other. Could you design a new way to help recycle more items?
Computing
Learn computer programming skills on "Scratch". You might need help from an adult until you get the hang of it! There are tutorials to watch that explain how everything works.
Virtual Museum Visits
I love going to museums because you can learn so many interesting things! Unfortunately, they are not open at the moment but there is still lots to see and do online. The Natural History Museum and the Science Museum are two of my favourite places (I especially love the blue whale in The Natural History Museum!). Take a look at their websites to go on virtual tours and learn more!
Stay Active!
Remember to to a little bit of exercise every day. You can choose what you would like to do, but if they weather is nice, try to get outside for some fresh air. If it is rainy, there are lots of fitness videos online. We have really enjoyed jumping around with Jumpstart Jonny in school as well as skipping outside in the playground!
iSingPop
There are some great new episodes of the iSingPop show on their YouTube channel.
