Prince of Wales Athletics
The Cheltenham and District Athletics competition took place last Friday at the Prince of Wales Stadium. The children have been training hard over the past few weeks on their sprinting, relay handovers, throwing and jumping. We were incredibly proud of all the children who competed in front of a packed stadium along with 12 other schools.
Several of our teams made it through the heats of their relay events to the finals where the Year 3 girls went on to win gold and the Year 6 girls claimed silver in their respective races.
Eva, Emmanuella, Eloise and George also made it through to the finals of their individual sprint races where Eva picked up her second gold of the event.
Harmony also claimed bronze in the 800m and silver in the long jump.
A special mention must be given to our reserve athletes who were an incredibly important part of our team, these children also trained very hard and gave their time to support their friends and were ready to race had they been needed.
