Desperate Journeys
Our year 5 pupils had a truly moving experience at St Laurence Church, Stroud, on Tuesday taking part in “Desperate Journeys”. This was an immersive drama activity, where the children were led through a maze like set with a group of actors playing the part of a family who are forced to flee their homes and become refugees.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the small humanitarian charity “Empath Action” who delivered an amazing experience. The drama section lasted an hour, after which the children took part in a Q&A discussion. The set, music and lighting were so powerful and we are super proud of the mature way in which our children were able to “Walk a mile” in their shoes.
Year 5 have since been busy reflecting on their learning and would like to invite the rest of the school to joint them in a sponsored “Walk a mile” to raise money for Empathy Action. Further details will follow.
