  • My Voice Winner!

    Mon 18 Sep 2023

Last term Year 5 and 6 classes entered the “My Voice” for Black History Month competition by Cheltenham Alliance for Race Equity. They received many entries and we have been asked to pass on our thanks to all pupils who entered. The time taken to share their views and experiences was appreciated by the panel. We are delighted to announce that Ffion’s poem, in Year 6, was selected to be published in a booklet and to be read out at the VOICEBOX at Cheltenham Literature Festival in October. The Mayor will be joining us for service in October to present the trophy and voucher to Ffion and the certificate to the school.

  • Year 5's School Trip

    Wed 13 Sep 2023

Year 5 experienced a little of what it would have been like for the children who were evacuated during the second world war. The children were met by their host, Farmer Tyler, who explained how they would be going to stay at her farm and attend the local primary school. They then travelled by steam train to Broadway where they spotted a suspicious looking man who was later captured by Miss Hillier and Miss Francis for being a spy! Back at Winchcombe station the children experienced what it would have been like to shelter from an air raid and learnt the important skills of firefighting should incendiary bombs be used.

This trip will now form the basis for their learning in both history and English. Thank you to all parents who helped make the day so special by sourcing 1940’s style clothing and creating packed lunches wrapped in paper and string!

  • OPAL

    Mon 24 Apr 2023

We are continuing to develop our provision at lunchtimes so that there are more opportunities for all children. A big change this week was ‘Wheely Wednesdays’ when the MUGA was taken over with wheeled toys – mostly donated by you. The children had a brilliant time as you can see in the pictures.

Children have also enjoyed den building. We are on the lookout for donations - anything that will help with this would be much appreciated, eg. old ripped tent fabric, tarpaulin etc.

Thank you to Mrs Slee for her donation of the mud kitchen – it is fantastic. We are encouraging children to keep the mud on the kitchen rather than themselves but think that the benefit far outweighs the washing! We are purchasing some aprons too. More donations of kitchen trays, pans, spoons etc would be gratefully received. Imagine the opportunity to replace your pots and pans at home while donating to a good cause!

Please keep us in mind before you throw anything out! We are happy to accept donations.
