    Anti-Bullying Week

We have had a great week exploring how we can be kind to each other, during ‘Anti-Bullying Week.’ This year, the theme has been, ‘One Kind Word.’ This was a great opportunity to create our own art work using Banksy’s piece, ‘The Girl and the Balloon.’ We enjoyed wearing odd socks on Monday and this opened up the discussion on diversity and difference and how it can be celebrated. All classes have considered, debated and discussed challenging questions around bullying: What makes someone bully someone else? What is the difference between bullying and an unkind action or words? What do I do if I am being bullied? What do I do if I am bullying? What do I do if I am the witness to bullying? As usual, the children have astonished us with their profound insights and reflections. A great week of growing and learning!

    Remembrance

We have been very proud of your children this week. They all behaved impeccably and with total respect during our Remembrance service. All of the school gathered outside for out 2 minutes silence and we would like to say a huge thank you to Mr Miles playing The Last Post. Year 5 also made a super service which all of the school appreciated. You can watch it here: https://www.christchurchschool-chelt.co.uk/autumn-term-2021-2/

  • Black History Month

    Mon 01 Nov 2021

October was Black History month in the UK and here at Christ Church, we used it as a time to raise awareness and celebrate the contribution black individuals have made in shaping our freedoms, culture and society. Each class focussed on a different historical figure; some male, some female, some well-known, some not so well-known. Dance, drama, role play, poetry, music, video and multi-cultural stories also played an important part, The children responded enthusiastically and with sensitivity, producing some super work from Reception right up to Year 6.
