Behaviour

Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12

Behaviour

At Christ Church C of E Primary School, we aim to create an environment where exemplary behaviour is at the heart of great learning. Everyone in our school family is encouraged and expected to maintain the highest standards of personal conduct, to accept responsibility for their behaviour and to support others to do the same.

We are a caring school family and our vision and aims have been developed to reflect our school motto, ALWAYS BE KIND, and to help promote an ethos and atmosphere where everyone feels valued and respected so that they can grow to be the very best that they can be.

Our School Rules

At Christ Church, it is one of our primary aims that every member of our school family behaves in a kind and considerate way towards others. As a school, we have developed three clear and simple school rules: We are Ready, We are Respectful and We are Safe so that all members of our school family can live and work together in a caring and supportive way and everyone feels happy, safe and secure.

Our Behaviour Policy

As well as our clear and consistent school rules, we have developed a behaviour policy with the primary aim of promoting respectful behaviour and positive relationships between everyone in our school family.  This has been developed by our staff team and approved by our governing body, and is available to download below and on our policies page in Key Information.

Supporting at Home

The primary aim of our approach to behaviour at Christ Church is not to develop a system of rules simply to be enforced. Instead, we seek to promote good relationships so that people can work together with the common purpose of helping everyone feel respected and valued. As a school family, we recognise the importance of working together in order to help children be the best they can be.  Therefore, we ask that as parents and carers:

  • You show respect to all members of our school family.
  • You support the school in encouraging your child to behave well and to take responsibility for their behaviour.
  • You are aware of the school’s rules and behaviour policy.
  • You support us by making us aware of any concerns or problems which might affect your child's work or behaviour.
  • You talk to your child's class teacher as soon as you have any concerns or problems.

Challenging Bullying… Our Values Based Approach

At Christ Church C of E Primary School our aim is to promote a safe, secure and enjoyable learning environment for all children to achieve their full potential and be the best that they can be.  As a caring Church of England School where we promote Christian values and mutual respect, we will never knowingly tolerate bullying, although we acknowledge that it can occur in all communities, including schools.

Everyone at Christ Church is valued as an individual and has the right to feel safe and relaxed at school. We also recognise that a child that is happy and secure is more likely to make progress personally, socially and academically. Bullying of any kind is unacceptable in our school and will be dealt with promptly and effectively.

We want our school to be a safe, caring and friendly place and where bullying exists, we will do all in our power to help solve and eradicate the problem.

Christ Church is a TELLING school: anyone who knows that bullying is happening should TELL a member of staff in school or someone they know and trust.

Christ Church is a LISTENING school: anyone who is worried about bullying will be LISTENED to.
