Spring Term 2021

We loved designing and making our pop-up Easter cards. Take a look at our colourful creations!

Welcome to Spring Term 2!

We are really looking forward to seeing you all back in school very soon! Thank you for continuing to work hard at home (or in school). We are so proud of you!

Miss Devoy and Mrs Parker

Our learning enquiry for this term will be:

Where is the best place for a picnic?

In Geography, we will be learning about the immediate area around the school. We will use aerial photos and maps to locate places that would be good for a picnic.

In English, we will begin by looking at shape poetry, before writing diaries based on traditional tales. We will finish off the term by writing a recount of our fantastic picnic!

In Science, we will be learning about Animals, Including Humans. We will be focusing on how animals and humans change and their lifecycles.

In RE, we will be answering the question 'Why does Easter matter to Christians?'

In Maths, we will begin by continuing our work on Statistics (tally charts, pictograms and block diagrams), before moving on to our unit on Shape.

In Computing, we will be designing and creating artwork using the different tools on Pixal Art.

In Design and Technology, we will be creating our own pop-up Easter cards.

Happy New Year!

A big thank you for all your lovely cards and gifts that all the grown ups received before Christmas. You are so kind and generous! We hope you had a wonderful, relaxing break with your families.

Looking forward to a fun filled term with you all!

Mrs Parker and Miss Devoy

Our Learning Enquiry for this term will be:

Were Captain Scott and his crew good explorers?

In History, we will be looking at why Scott and his crew decided to journey to the South Pole, and the problems that they faced along the way.

In English, we will begin by looking at the wordless story 'Journey', by Aaron Becker, before learning some performance poetry. We will finish off the term by writing our own diaries as Captain Scott and his crew.

In Science, we will be learning about Animals, Including Humans and we will be focusing on what makes a living thing.

In RE, we will be answering the question 'Who are Muslims and what do they believe'?

In Maths, we will begin by continuing our work on Money, before moving on to Multiplication and Division.

In Computing, we will be creating our own animation scenes with Scratch the Penguin.

In Art, we will be exploring water colours, inspired by the water colour paintings of Edward Wilson.
