Autumn 1

                                                                                                  Settled And Having Fun

We are all settled back into school life and enjoying lots of learning and fun. We are all working in the Centre and integrating back into our year group classes. It has been great to see friendships rekindled after being in bubbles last year. We have appointed new members to be the C and I representatives on both the Eco Council and the School Council. Some children have been enjoying extra-curricular activities after school, like Multi- skills and it has been great to hear about all the hobbies children have learnt over the summer holiday.

We all enjoyed the skipping workshop which was an opportunity to learn new skipping skills in our classes. Who ever knew there was a skip called a pretzel!

We have been very busy with our learning. This has included lots of practical lessons and role-play to practise our language skills. Sometimes the children have been the teachers!

It has been great to be part of all the events in our classes. We enjoyed the Literature Festival and was so pleased that the author Olaf Falafel awarded one student a special badge for their great enthusiasm.

We loved learning African dance moves and getting dressed up in African clothes. It was a  great event, that all the juniors really enjoyed. The infants had a visit from the fire-engine. We all got a bit wet from spraying the hoses and we tried on the fireman's clothes.

We really enjoyed having  an ex-pupil come to visit the Centre. He told us all about moving on to secondary school and we could ask him questions about things that might be worrying us. He also told us about his plans for the future and got us all thinking about what we aspire to be. We loved hearing about his hobbies and how much fun he has at activities like army cadets and drama club.
