  • Christ Church through to Albert Dix Football Finals!

    Fri 18 Oct 2019 A.Hillier

The weather was wet but the football was great! Our Christ Church team, expertly coached by Matthew Rose, entered the Albert Dix football tournament for the second consecutive year hoping to go one better than last season. The team got off to a good start with a 1-1 draw against St. Edwards before a thrilling game against Holy Trinity where the boys won 5-0 despite the heavy rain and overhead thunder! With confidence running high Christ Church then took on Leckhampton in a very tight match. They went 1 goal down after just a few minutes but soon equalised before taking the lead in the second half. With only the group winners going through to the finals, it all came down to the final game against Warden Hill. In a close and nervous game, with more dark clouds gathering overhead, the boys dug deep to earn a 1-1 draw which saw them top the group and go through to the finals which will take place after half term.

We owe a big thank you to Matt for being our team manager and can't wait for the finals.

    Congratulations Christ Church!

  • Quidditch House Cup!

    Tue 15 Oct 2019 A.Hillier

Christ Church children have been training hard over the past two days to master the sport of Quidditch! Following on from the taster day last year, children practised the skills of being a seeker, chaser, bludger and keeper, all while flying on their broomsticks! It was incredible to see how well the children took on these positions and showed a great understanding of what is a quite complicated as well as fast and furious game.

Each KS2 class got to take part in two training sessions over the two days before taking part in our very own Christ Church Quidditch Cup. We had both a Year 3/4 tournament and a Year 5/6 tournament where all children played some fantastic quidditch. A special mention must go to the children who played the positions of seekers and the golden snitch who ran their hearts out to score extra points for their houses.

After an action packed, sunny afternoon, the overall result was incredibly close and came down to the score of the final match to be played. Whilst all children were deserving of being winners, the

2019 Christ Church Quidditch Champions are Sudeley!

Thanks must be given to Cheltenham Ladies College for again allowing us to use their fantastic facilities.
