  • First medals of the school year for Christ Church

Fri 29 Nov 2019 Miss Hillier

Christ Church Netball B Team put in an outstanding performance at yesterday's B Team tournament. The team won their first 2 matches against Bishops Cleeve and Woodmancote with a string of great goals from both Lucas and Dhilon. They were then beaten by Grangefield and sadly had a fantastic goal by Tabby from the edge of the D disallowed but went on to beat Oakwood and progress through the the semi finals. The semi final match against Prestbury was incredibly tough but Christ Church went on to win the 3rd/4th place playoff thanks to another great goal by Tabby. The team proudly returned to school with bronze medals.

For many of our team members this was their first competitive tournament and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.

    Well done Christ Church!

    Christ Church Remembers

I lift up my eyes to the hills –

from whence will my help come?

My help comes from the Lord,

    Who made heaven and earth.

    Psalm 121.1-2

On Monday 11th November, Christ Church came together as a school family to remember all those who have fought and served for our freedoms. We reflected on why we wear the poppy and its meaning and our House Captains read the poem for the fallen by Laurence Binyon. We also observed two minutes silence which was brought to a close by the playing of the last post.

A video of our House Captains reading the poem can be found via the link below:

At the end of our remembrance service, the following prayer was also shared:

We think of all who are angry - bring them peace

We think of all who are jealous - bring them peace

We think of all who are greedy - bring them peace

We think of all who hate - bring them peace

We think of all who are afraid - bring them peace

We think of all who have lost -bring them peace

We think of all who have fallen - bring them peace

    Amen
