A great start to our Maya history topic. We learnt about the ancient Mayan civilisation and how important cacao beans were to their culture. Not only did they use the beans to develop an early form of hot chocolate but they also used cacao pods as a form of currency. The children then got to experience how chocolate is made today and of course, tasted some!
