English
Spend 15 minutes on today's spelling challenge:
Find as many words as you can which contain at least two Os, but no other vowel (ie no As, Es, Is or Us). Here are a couple of examples: FOLLOW and SCHOOL.
YOU MAY USE A DICTIONARY, but please do not just google your answers.
One point for each word you find.
How well did you do?
10 pts - fair effort
20 pts - You're on track
30 pts - Spelling star!
40 pts - You can teach the class from now on!
After the Summer holiday, you will start in Year 5 with me. I managed to talk to some of you when you were in school at the start of July, but we did not have much time together.
Write telling me about yourself. What hobbies do you have? What school subjects do you like? What did you love about being in Year 4? What are you looking forward to in Year 5? Let me know if you have any questions I can answer.
Other
Often a holiday involves a long car journey or a wait at an airport (or both!).
I would like you to invent a family game to play in these situations.
Make sure it is suitable for all ages and interesting enough to engage everyone for some time. If it is for a car journey, it will need to be an oral game so that the driver can join in. If it is for an airport wait, you could use paper and pencil.
Be sure to practise your game, so that you get feedback from people at home and make any improvements required.
