Victorian Children - pictorial evidence.

This week we are continuing our exciting History Enquiry on life as a Victorian school child. Before we learn about that though, we need to discover what Victorian times were really like.

Our second lesson is finding out all about the lives of children in Victorian times and how life differed, depending on the class you were born into. Not a school class but the class in society, for example Working Class or Upper Class.

Here are some clues.....

Look at the pictorial evidence and record your findings on the lives of children in Victorian Times.

Look closely at the pictures. Is it a photograph or an artist's impression. Look at their clothes, shoes and toys. Do they look lacking in food and warmth? Are they clean and cared for? Do they look happy or sad? Do they have to go to work? Which class of children would go to the seaside on holiday?

Write a detailed paragraph of information on your findings. Below are some helpful sentence starters you may wish to use.
